I first saw feather Christmas trees for $40 each while shopping locally in Charleston. They were lovely but I knew I could make some myself on a lower budget. This was such an easy, quick handmade craft. You can use any color feather and make the trees as big or small as you’d like. I hope you’ll give it a try!

Exact Steps to Make DIY Christmas Trees
Step 1: Create cones with card stock
The first step in creating your feather Christmas trees is to create the base shape for the feathers to stick onto. I like using card stock and creating my own because it allows me to dictate the shape and size that I want. I decided to make one tall skinny tree and two shorter wide trees.
Once wrapped the card stock into a cone shape, I used clear tape to secure the shape. From there, I cut the bottom of the cone with scissors to make a flat bottom for the cone to sit.
Step 2: Curl feathers with curling iron
The feathers I purchased came straight, so I used an old curling iron to curl the feathers before sticking them to the cone base.
Step 3: Glue feathers to cone base
Using a hot glue gun, begin pasting the curled feathers to the base of the card stock cone. Continue gluing the feathers around the base until you have full coverage. Then start layering feathers on top of the bottom row of feathers. until you get to the top. You may want to cut some of my feathers to be shorter once you get to the top of the trees. I also added some white sparkly stars at the top to finish them off, but you could add any additional decorations to these that you wish!
